In this paper, the time evolution of the quasiparticledistribution in a small absorber of the superconductingcold-electron bolometer (SCEB) was modeled. Themodel used was based on the diffusion model developedfor the superconducting tunnel junction with largeabsorbers. The result showed that the use of a small absorber ledto faster response time of the bolometer. Compared to othertypes of infrared and microwave bolometer, the SCEB promisesto perform better and faster and can easily be integrated with theread-out electronics.
